Please check with your child’s teacher and further details will go home closer to the event.)

Thursday, April 24th– Mini Mini Unogwaja Challenge – Dolphins, Seahorses, Jaguars and Tigers will be involved in a mini-running challenge in support of this marathon that occurs across South Africa in May. One major highlight to stress the unity of the runners is that they all wear red socks!  The center is supplying a pair of red socks for each child and a T-shirt, we only ask that the children wear a pair of shorts and shoes/sneakers to be comfortable running. Cory Arcak, a Student Affairs staff member and College of Education doctoral student was selected to be on the support team in South Africa during this event.  She was the only American selected.  I have attached the link to information on this event and are honored that she chose our students to be representatives of this event (which provides funding for food, medicine, lodging and school supplies to youth orphaned due to HIV/AIDS (http://www.unogwajachallenge.com/). Please watch the video for a history of the challenge. It was truly inspiring. J
