Parent Volunteer Opportunities
We want to encourage you to get involved in your child's daycare center! We
have many opportunities for parent volunteers. Whatever your skill
or interest, we could put it to good use. Some of the things our
parents are doing right now include:
- Helping out in the office
- Helping teacher in our classrooms
- Building outdoor play equipment and structures
- Repairing books and toys
- Sewing sleeping mat covers or pillows
- Visiting classrooms to share information related to their profession,
hobby, or background
- Enhancing computer systems
- Creating bulletin boards in classrooms
- Fund raising with local businesses and organizations
- Serving on the Parent Advisory Board
- Reading to children, or creating music or art with them
- Taking photographs for our scrapbooks
Try one of these, or invent your own! We welcome your suggestions! Some
of these require special talents, but most of these are something you
could do right now.
For example, we are always looking for parents who would like to share
their knowledge about other countries, or their families' cultural
traditions. We would like parents to share foods, pictures, music,
clothing, games, toys, and more. Could you prepare a special dish? Or
help celebrate a special holiday? Or teach us a game or song you
learned as a child? We'd like to hear from you! We welcome
all family members, grandparents, moms, and want to extend a special
invitation to dads and other male relatives.
Donated Items
We are always looking for classroom equipment and interesting materials
for craft projects. Think of us if you have any of these, or similar,
items:
